The legend of the Coli Wine Cellar originated in 1926, when Piero and Gino Coli began their adventure at the gates of Florence. The Coli brothers decided to seek out and sell the most traditional of wines produced in the Chianti hills: the Chianti and Chianti Classico.

The cellar is located near Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, in the Chianti Classico region nearest Florence, and has recently been renovated with a new bottling plant including a modern, high-tech laboratory with the ability to keep a constant check on the quality of its wine.

The Chianti is a blend of primarily Sangiovese but with with Canaiolo, Trebbiano Bianco and Malvasia del Chianti grapes, this lively medium bodied red has tempting flavors and aromas of cassis, wild berries and just a modicum of spiciness. Ruby red now but look for the wine to darken and for flavors of chocolate to make themselves felt as the wine develops.
